Scratchable Boris Video

So Boris Johnson was talking at the global investment summit.

There's a wonderful point where he seems to go into some kind of sublime jargon meltdown:

Financial services, cyber, AI, quantum computing, gene editing. Data, data.. er.. data.
Tech of all kinds – fintech, med tech, nano tech, green tech.

Ok, I thought how wonderful it would be to sample that nonsense and mix it up.

Or even scratch it!

Then it occurred to me that the Web Audio API might actually be powerful enough to do that.

Using the new audioWorkletProcessor - an extendable class for creating custom audio nodes that processes audio data in real time.

It's a rotating video, that you can grab and scratch in real time, like a vinyl disk. It is very clunky right now and only works well on a fast PC, but it's just a brief proof of concept, I will do more with this and turn it into something more useful, along with a tutorial, but for now I just wanted to show you the result:
