I found these two photos after seeing the second image in a documentary, and decided to compare them.
Completely different technologies, 40 years apart, that look conspicuously similar.
Programmable pixels, late 70's:
And programmable DNA proteins, AKA DNA origami, 2020:
Notice any similarity?
Given where we went with the pixels in the past 40 years, you have to wonder where we'll be with the programmable DNA in 40 years.
