I grew up drinking tea, thanks to my mother, but it was very standard - PG tips, with lots of milk and sugar. Now, thanks to a mixture of dairy intolerance and late onset diabetes my tastes have become more refined. I didn't realise this until a few years ago, my uncle took me to a sushi restaurant and I had a green tea with jasmine, as it is (a perfect accompaniment to a sushi meal if you're not drinking sake) and I realised that tea on it's own could be a really refreshing drink.
So, here are the teas in my cupboard:
Sweet tasting teas.
Twinings Lady Grey - a play on 'Earl Grey' only this is Orange flavoured, instead of perfumed.
Spicy tasting teas:
Tea India - Masala Chai - Not the intense spice fest you think, surprisingly mild, similar to Yogi Choco
Twinings No 29 Dark Chai - This is another mild, cinnamon flavoured tea, useful if you can't find Yogi Choco
Green teas:
Clipper Green Tea - I buy various green teas, but this is the one I'm drinking right now.
Twinings Jasmine Green Tea - Green tea with jasmine, refreshing, and great with sushi.
Smoky Tasting teas:
Twinings Lapsang Souchong - a very strong smokey tea.
Classic tasting teas:
Twinings Assam - Strong, malty, but classic tea taste.
Btw, all of these are available at any large Sainsburys, except Yogo Choco, you have to hunt for that one, usually a large Holland and Barret will stock it, if not there then independent wholefood shops often have it.
